INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS is a 1956 science fiction film based on the novel The Body Snatchers by Jack Finney (originally serialized in Colliers Magazine in 1954) and was directed by Don Siegel.
The film describes a situation where a large portion of a community’s friends and family have been replaced by replicas. It is infused with post -WWII paranoia, anxiety, and fear that those you are the closest to are not what you thought them to be.
