OLAFUR ELIASSON (b.1967) a biography of Olafur Eliasson through an interview…. “Elisasson prefers not to share too much about his own background, believing that biography is often overemphasized in writings about an artist’s work. Eliasson’s mother was a dressmaker; his father was a cook and amateur painter. A little-known fact about his youth is that as a teenager, Eliasson was the break-dancing champion of Scandinavia.”
His work entitled “The Weather Project”was a large-scale installation in which Eliasson reconstructed the sun in the main atrium of the Tate Modern in 2004. The weather is a common and ultimately collective experience. However, the viewers of this installation reported disorientation and nausea when confronted with it indoors.
